Incredibile ma vero… a volte le gare possono essere anche cancellate per il troppo vento e i divieti alla navigazione (un po’ come si sta verificando per la non più tanto probabile chiamata del Campionato Italiano Slalom prevista per questo sabato e domenica).
E così dopo due giorni di action nucleare, un paio di giorni di piattone totale e buono solo per la tow in expressions, ecco che per il day 5 viene ufficialmente terminata questa gara per l’interdizione alla navigazione.

Dear friends of the EFPT,
Day 5 of the EFE/EFPT tour stop here in the South of France should have seen the 36 competitors on the water one more time as the forecast looked very promising for the morning. The new single elimination ladder had already been prepared and announced and one more day with great windsurf action could have been expected.
There was just one thing that couldn’t have been calculated, crossing the plan: the red flags were put up along the whole coastline between Marseille and Nice with the strict announcement, that everybody who will enter either the beach or the water will be warned by the police. The council recommended to cancel the competition and gave us no authorization to send the riders out again.

After no further eliminations were possible, the result for the second EFPT stop is as follows:
1st Dieter Van der Eyken (Starboard) from Belgium
2nd Tonky Frans from Bonaire
3rd Davy Scheffers from Holland
